Week of 5/10 in Pictures

Last week was low key. We had such a busy week before and the weekend was busy with Mother's Day activities that it was nice to simply hang around the house, go to tee ball practice etc. Alan took off Friday and we drove down to Mass. and Ikea with George while Caroline went to school and hung out with Nana. On Saturday, Caroline had tee ball pictures and her third game. Then, I packed up and joined a few friends down in Ogunquit for a little retreat at the Cliff House Spa.

 Someone woke up very unhappy one day and had to hang

around Mommy every moment. Those molars are coming in!

Mother's Day

This Mother's Day was perfect. It was so much fun now that Caroline is older and makes plans for me. I'm not sure it's easier on Alan, but I appreciated all of their effort. I am loved and blessed. The morning started out of breakfast in bed. I received a hand made card and a Willow Tree figurine each from Caroline and George. I enjoyed my breakfast and got ready for a little nature walk at Rachel Carson with Alan and the kids. The day was beautiful and we enjoyed the warmer weather. Afterwards, we came home and got ready for dinner at Aunt Barbara's and Uncle Rick's. We had a big group there this year. It was us, Gramma, Nana & Grampy, Great Gram Barbara and Richard, Cheryl & Bob, Trish, Steve & Justin, Carol, and Nicholas. Richard hopefully got some good pictures and I'll share them here when I get them.

I wish it wasn't so sunny and her eyes weren't squinty.

We never got pictures of us all dressed up until the end of the day after this

ad by then George had been running around naked for half the afternoon :)

 

Caroline's 2nd Tee Ball Game

Caroline's second tee ball game was Saturday morning at 9am and it was pretty cold out. She had everyone in attendance (us, Nana, Grampy, and Gramma) and it was make or break time. Anymore quits and crying etc. and we were going to probably walk away from tee ball. Caroline did awesome. She listened, she was interested, and she smiled a lot. The coach came up with an even better way to make things fair. He had a hidden ball and he would toss it to one kid and have them toss it to another (all while the ball in play was also tossed by two kids) therefore every at bat four kids were interacting. Genius! She gave everyone a high five at the end and we left very happy. We stopped by the farmer's market for a celebratory brownie and looked forward to Monday night's practice!

Coach Hailey tried to talk her out of using the bigger bat, 

but she would have none of it! 

Week 5/3 in Pictures

Last week was a busy one. Over the weekend we got a lot of things done. Well, Alan did, I was mostly on occupy the kids duty. We had tee ball practice on Monday night, Caroline's Kindergarten screening was on Thursday and then Mother's Day tea was Friday (which I've already shared the cuteness from!) In between we enjoyed some of the nice weather, some of the cold weather, and had fun.

Making Mommy's Mother's Day card

 

Mother's Day Tea

On Friday Caroline's school hosted a Mother's Day Tea. It was the same as last year, with the tables made up nicely with flowers. Tea and juice served with fruits, tea sandwiches, and baked goods. The kids sang two songs and then we walked around the school to see all of their artwork. We were also presented with our beautifully made cards and tea cup and saucer. As much as it was the same, it was different. The kids did all of their own artwork on the cups, the cards were more elaborate and they took more of a vested interested in making us happy. It was absolutely so sweet. Of course I had the sweetest companion next to me :) She was just so thrilled that I was there (where else would I be?!?) and was having so much fun. I love the school for putting this on, it is just such a wonderfully fun event.

 All ready to go to school and join me for tea later in the morning!
