La Kermesse 2012 Parade

 Friday night we met up with some friends and walked down to the La Kermesse parade in downtown Biddeford. We've never been before and even though people said it was small, it lasted an hour and we were pretty happy. Caroline was very excited. She loves a parade. She asked all day long, "Can I wear my pretty dress? Can I wave my flag? Can I bring my marching band?" Of course sweetheart! The best part, even though I have no pictures, is Caroline got a trumpet. She and Daddy have a pretend one, but now she has one to play with for real as well!

 These are just a few pictures of Caroline from yesterday. This is to show you the varied things we do. We woke up and headed to the park with a friend. Then, came home and had lunch. Received a new pal in the mail from Gramma, watered the plants while Mommy grilled dinner and then decided that Mommy's boots and a winter hat were perfect to wear! She's a silly goose and we love her to pieces!

Father's Day 2012

 Happy Father's Day! Yesterday Caroline woke Daddy up with a handmade card and then we made some French Toast. After breakfast, we headed to the marina for some fishing. There were some pretty big rollers and no fish so we came back early and enjoyed some snacks. We came home for a nap and then headed back to the marina for some grilling and some S'mores.
When we came home that night we went upstairs and watched the video that I made for Alan for last years Father's Day. Caroline had lots of fun pointing out herself and we loved seeing our tiny little baby! It was up to bed for some story time as usual. We had a wonderful, relaxing day. I think both Daddy's were pretty happy with the day :)  Happy Father's Day! We love you!

The Sweet Caroline meets the USS George H.W. Bush

We went out on our first trip on the Sweet Caroline Sunday. We had a specific destination on our first morning trip, to catch a glimpse of the USS George H.W. Bush. It was docked a few miles off the coast of Kennebunkport so George H.W. Bush could come abroad and meet the crew. They had a 2 mile security perimeter, but that was still amazingly close. We couldn't decide if we liked seeing the carrier more or all the buzz around it. There were lots of boats on a direct course towards it which sent Coast Guard cutters, Marine patrol, secret service, helicopters etc. in a flurry.

Who's that big girl?

I know I always say that Caroline is growing so fast all of the time, but I really think the past few months we have seen the biggest spurt. Not just in growth, but in personality, vocabulary, and her ability to do so much. We've said goodbye to the crib, the highchair, and diapers and hello to 7-8 word sentences, recognizing all of the letters of the alphabet, counting to ten, being able to do most things herself like putting on her shoes and getting dresses, and an adorable little girl who knows who to twist one of our arms to get what she wants! Here are a few pictures from the past week that just amaze me when I looked back at them. Who is this big girl in these pictures? Where did that little girl who slept on my chest go?

Gymnastics!

I've been wanting to take Caroline to a gymnastics class for some time now. She's such a little jumping bean and loves tumbling at home. I know I loved it growing up and figured it would be a fun outlet. When the moms group I'm a member of had an outing at the local gymnasium here I immediately signed up. They will be doing open gyms each week all Summer long and then we'll probably look into something else for the future. It was very difficult getting any pictures. You have to stay within arms reach of your child and she was jumping all around. She absoultely loved it though. She impressed the coach with her balance. They thought she was a very petite 3 yr old! Out of all the things she loved, it was climbing! In the one picture that a friend took you can see Caroline walking down a plank, but behind it are metal bars and they have to climb on top and over and through. You aren't allowed to hold on to their hands, they have to figure it out on their own and she loved it! When we got home she was tired, but she restored her energy with a nap and had fun goofing off with Daddy afterwards. The following crazy flips they are doing have been nighttime fun for a while. They are always up to some sort of tumbling at night!
