I'm posting this a little early since I wont have time to tomorrow. I'm headed to Virgina to go to the Mixed conference. You can read all about it here ( http://mixedcon.com) but basically I'll be hanging out with loads of bloggers, some of whom I've gotten to know pretty well on my cooking boards, a lot of professionals and myself and 7 other people will have a private cake decorating session with Ace of Cakes Duff Goldman! Totally excited. I'm going to miss my little peanut though, and the rest of the household hehe.
This week Caroline and I have been battling that cold. Just when I thought she was getting rid of it she woke up from her nap last night all congested again :( Me, mine went right to a sinus infection. Just what I needed before a big trip! So, we've been doing a lot of hanging around the house. One night we went to run some errands and Caroline finally got to really ride in her new carseat in my new Chevy Traverse. She is loving the new carseat since it sits up a little higher, is less bulky and it comes with two cups holds and she can reach the cupholder at the door. She is quite pleased with this! She also has a holder in front of her for her books, etc. and the center console can accommodate her blanket when she doesn't want to. She's happy :) We're happy too!

 Daddy made Caroline her own step stool. First thing she does is take it to her kitchen and start reaching the things we had up there. That and the light switches! :)

 Learning the meaning of the season :) She held the money all the way through the parking lot and said, "Merry Christmas!" and was so cute!

My imaginative little one. She bent the large pipe cleaner and said it was a mirror. Then she started "investigating" with it and using it as a magnifying glass :)

Thanksgiving '12

Thanksgiving was supposed to be pretty laid back. Alan was going to go skeet shooting with his cousins and Caroline and I were going to stay home and watch the parade. We would meet up for the big family dinner at his Aunt's in the afternoon, Caroline and I bringing the pumpkin cheesecake, and visit with family and have a fun time.
What happened was Caroline woke up at 6am (2 hours earlier than usual) crying and sick as a dog. She has never really had a cold. Every time we think she is getting sick it turns out to be a tooth coming in. Nothing more than a few sniffles during the day and that is it. Well, she her luck had run out. Our poor little girl was coughing, sneezing, runny nose, red blotchy faced, and just plain miserable. In her words, "I'm sick. I have the sniffles. I don't feel very well." So, we stayed home and all watched the parade on the couch.
We decided to have our own Thanksgiving dinner here. Our turkey was in the freezer, but we had everything we needed to have a great Thanksgiving dinner. Stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, cranberry sauce and chicken. Alan whipped up a batch of rolls that his family always makes and I started on the apple pie for Alan since he doesn't like cheesecake. Little bit of chips and dip and we couldn't have wanted for anything more. Our little peanut didn't eat much, even the apple pie she begged for in the video, and she was pretty bummed about not seeing everyone, but we all enjoyed the snuggle time.
We were very thankful that we were still able to spend the holiday with each other and that we were able to put out a spread like that for ourselves when others are less fortunate. Don't worry Caroline,  Daddy and Mommy have your back. We'll give you Thanksgiving no matter what! :)

Photo Friday

I'm a little late, but it's been a hectic few days with Thanksgiving, etc. I'll get to the Thanksgiving post tomorrow, promise! This week we tried to stay home and keep things low-key. A few of Caroline's friends were sick and we opted to stay away from them so we wouldn't get germs. Didn't work, a little foreshadowing into Thanksgiving day :) For the most part, we did a lot of baking and some playing around the house. Some fun at gymnastics and a little shopping and prepping for Thanksgiving.

A nice way to end the weekend

On Sunday we did a few things around the house and played. We tried to get some photos taken of Caroline for Christmas cards and had to take some Christmas things down from the attic. When Caroline saw some of her Christmas teddies, there was no turning back! I'm a big fan of respecting the turkey, but with me being out of town the following weekend for my big food blogging conference, I wanted to try to get some pictures. I knew it was going to take more than one shoot :)
So, yeah Caroline is now carrying her Christmas friends everywhere and Rudolph just wont stop singing :) She took them up to the mall last night. We decided we would end the weekend with a little favorite activity of Caroline's, going out to the "quesadilla place" otherwise known as Chipotle's and going to the mall to ride rides. Top that off with a little ice cream at home (DQ was closed) and she went to bed the happiest little girl!

Oh, a little edit. We also stopped by and said, "Hi!" to Santa. No pictures or pressure and she did much better this time. She said he was nice and gave her a coloring book :)

She decided to take some of the baby toys out of the cloest and play around with them. 

They were her "horseshoes" :) At the end we talk about the words that she can now say that she used to have difficulty saying!

NH Children's Museum

Thursday Daddy took the day off and we headed down to the NH Children's Museum in Dover. We had wanted to go to the New England Aquarium, but with most of the exhibits closed for renovation it just wasn't worth it. We had a ball playing with Caroline and then went to lunch. Caroline, who typically does not eat pizza, requested pizza. We took her to pizza and she ate a lot and we had a lot of fun at lunch too. It was a very nice weekday family outing for all!

Friday Photos

Another week has flown by! It was a short week since Daddy took off Thursday and Friday and we will have some seperate pictures of what we've been busy doing :) The beginning of this week was gorgeous so Caroline and I had some fun playing outside. Then, of course Tuesday was gymnastics. Nana came and stopped by and watched Caroline in action. She is doing more and more each time and really doing a great job with listening to directions and trying her hardest! Wednesday we went out to eat with Nana and Grampy before they left for Florida. This weekend is a nice 4 day weekend with Daddy, then a 3 day work week before another 4 day weekend :)

Caroline's First Tea Party

Caroline attended her first tea party on Saturday. All of the girls behaved like little ladies and we were all very impressed. They helped themselves to tea, aka apple cider, pouring it themselves and sipping with no major spills. After they were finished they went up to the playroom and let loose a little bit. :)

She had a minor reaction to something that was eaten,

but nothing a little Claritin couldn't cure!

Last week in pictures

 The past week has been another busy one. Over last weekend Daddy was busy with Grampy building the shed and Mommy was very busy in the kitchen.  We also had a wonderful time at gymnastics this week. Caroline was very patient, listen and followed directions and did so well! The foam pit slowed her down a bit, but other than that she did amazing! We also had our first snow, but we already posted about that :)
