A Very Busy Day

We found ourselves with an unplanned Saturday and decided to have some fun locally. We hit the farmer's market for the first time this year. Caroline and I tried sea beans for the first time. She loved them, I could take them or leave them. Ha! We also got some Maine popcorn kernels. Afterwards, we headed to KCS to roll down the hill. Sound funny? Well we have our Summer List where we list fun and silly things we want to do during our summer vacation and rolling down a hill was one of them. This whole day was basically a fun day to check off quite a few things on the list.
Caroline was the best hill roller, with Daddy coming in second and George and I tied. Funny note, hill rolling is not for adults! Alan and I had almost instant headaches! We also all ended up with a slight rash, but thankfully once we went home and washed our arms we were fine.

Up next was the first official swim in the pool. We had some dinner and then headed out to Saco for some Dairy Joy ice cream. We came home and played some bad-mitten and then got ready for bed. We kept our eye out for lightening bugs but only saw a few and they were so deep in the woods. So, we went out and watched them but did not catch any. Lightening bugs just don't ever seem to be in the cards for us!

We all went to bed pretty tired that night, but simple fun summer days are the best!
