The Pool, the Fire Station, and the Playhouse

This past week was a busy one for Caroline. We finally got the pool set up and warm enough to swim in, no thanks to lots of rain from Mother Nature. We also took a trip to her favorite place, The Mall, and did a tour of the Wells Fire Station. The afternoon after the fire station tour Grampy and Nana came by and delivered Caroline's playhouse. Or, as she likes to call it, her "clinic" since she loves Doc McStuffins :) Now, if Mother Nature would cooperate, we can finally get to playing with all of this stuff!!!

Amy & Todd's Wedding

Ever since we got the invitation to Amy & Todd's wedding Caroline has stated that she will dance with both of them, the bride and groom. Whenever a wedding is mentioned, she talks about how she will dance with them and wear a beautiful dress like Amy. So, as the big day arrived there was a lot of excitement! Caroline had a ball at the wedding! Literally, she was the first one on the dance floor and probably would have been the last if we would have let her. We finally dragged her off the dance floor at about 9:45 when a slow song came on. She was a little disappointed that she couldn't join Amy & Todd for their first dance and the tears really flowed when she had to wait for the traditional Father/Daughter & Mother/Son dances. But, once the dance floor was open, she headed right to it. She went right up to Amy and started dancing with her! I should also mention that right after the ceremony she told Todd she was going to dance with him and then found Amy and did twirls for her. She asks Amy to do some twirls and Amy tried her best in her gown. :)
When she wasn't busy hunting down the bride and groom she was having fun dancing with the other kids, Mommy & Daddy, and she even grabbed Mark on to the dance floor. When he left she found him at the bar and pulled him right back on to the dance floor!
When she wasn't dancing she was playing with the other kids and had fun blowing bubbles with Roxie, Amy and Todd's dog. It is safe to say, Caroline loves a good party and is a dancing princess :)  I can't wait to see the professional photographs because the photographed had a lot of fun watching Caroline.
The wedding was gorgeous and we were all excited for Amy & Todd. We wish them a wonderful future and thank them again for hosting such a fun party!

La Kermese Parade '13

This past weekend was the La Kermese festival. While we didn't partake in the festival, we did go to the parade with friends again this year. The kids love a parade and they also love getting toys from the vendor afterwards. Funny thing is, they got the same exact toys as last year :)

A Busy Weekend in the Kitchen!

This past weekend we were very busy in the kitchen. It's rhubarb and strawberry season here and we had lots of favorites to make and some new recipes to try. We went to a friend's farm and grabbed some rhubarb from her and Caroline "borrowed' a fresh egg and headed home to cook. We made Strawberry Rhubarb Jam, Strawberry Rhubarb Crumb Cake, Strawberry Rhubarb Italian Sodas, Strawberry Rhubarb Jam, Strawberry Chipotle Jam, and I whipped up some Lobster Roll appetizers. Yup, you can find all of these on the blog now or very soon!
So, we had our little helper in the kitchen, where she loves to be. Daddy also got in on the action with all of the canning! We had some visitors in the shed so he had to stop working on it!

 Last week there were eggs, now there are at least 3 tiny mouths!

Random Photo Catch Up!

The past few weeks have been very busy. I know I say that often, but with normal day to day things going on, appointments for the new baby, summer time fun, house work, weddings, etc. it's been a little chaotic! So, I thought I'd start with a random photo post and work my way through what we've been up to. Hopefully, getting them all out of the way and by Friday being back on track!

A New Addition...

There is no hiding it any longer! We are expecting our second child the end of Nov. (give or take a month since it's me!) Now, if you want to learn more details watch the video as Caroline will share them with you :)

Sunday Evening

Yesterday was a lovely day spent at home. No errands, no pressing projects, just getting some things done around the house while enjoying the day. Even though Alan spent most of the day working on the shed, even he enjoyed the laid back pace of the day. Caroline and I spent a lot of time on the deck, she playing with her water table and me doing a little of this and that. At one point, just before dinner I decided to take my camera out and shoot something other than food! Then, I realized I still was, my flowers were chives if you want to be particular, so I turned directions and took photos of my little peanut, whom flowers can not compare :) We ended the day with grilled pizza and ice cream cones and closed another good weekend.
