The Bounce Zone

On Saturday, we went to a birthday party for Alan's co-worker's son's 2nd birthday. It was held at The Bounce Zone. When we arrived Caroline took a few minutes to check the place out and then Alan put her on one of the bouncy areas. She was not so sure about bouncing so Alan took her to a small slide. The first time she went down he helped her and I caught her at the bottom. It was maybe 6 feet long. She loved it and said, "Again!" We did this about 6 times, each time she got a little braver and didn't need our help.
Next, she wanted to go on the largest slide there. I told Alan that he HAD to go down with her and even then I was still scared for her. Well, they got to the top and apparently she pushed away from him. I hear from Alan, "We're coming down alone Momma!" My heart stopped. I was chatting with one of Alan's co-workers and we both stared. My little peanut came down very fast with the biggest grin on her face. She immediately popped up and said, "Again!"
She raced everywhere. She couldn't get on the next slide fast enough. A few days later and she is still saying, "Slide. Jump. High."
I think a visit to the Bounce Zone will be in our future!

I love this outfit! :) She does too since the hood has a kitty face on it

Way up high with Daddy

This was actually not the first landing. She was getting sloppy since she immediately bounced back up to go AGAIN! :P

Off to the next slide

Look how tiny she is compared to the other kids!

Weeeeeee!

One happy kid :)

Fast asleep! She went right out once we were in the car and was asleep as Alan carried her into the house. She has never stayed asleep when you take her out of the car seat, ever!

The stylings of Caroline

Caroline is set in her ways when it comes to what she wants to wear. If she wants to wear boots, she's wearing boots! Hats and hair bows are necessaties. Certain days she HAS to wear blue, other days it must be something soft and white. Here are just a few funny pictures from the past week :)

She couldn't decide so she wore both!

Mini Mommy :)

Apparently, no heat setting is high enough in the mornings :)

Nothing silly here, just showing off my skinny little monkey :)

A "Sweet" Valentines Day

We had a very nice Valentines Day at our house. Over the weekend we made Chocolate Cherry Bark, Cheddar Heart Crackers, and yesterday Caroline and I were treated with all sorts of goodies! We ended the evening with a fun family dinner out where Caroline had all sorts of fun playing Peek-a-boo with a little boy at the table next to us! It was a very nice "love" day indeed!

Caroline had fun opening cards

Mommy got flowers and a new phone

and Caroline got her first lollipop from Aunt Barbara & Uncle Richard!

Tastes good!

Wanna share?

What's the big idea? Why are you taking it away? :)

Baking with Caroline

Last night was the first time Caroline and I actually baked together. We made Cheddar Hearts, our version of Goldfish. I figured this was a good, first time activity since she could eat the raw dough and wouldn't get sick. Plus, there is no sugar so we don't have to worry about it being bad for her! She loved rolling the dough and using the cookie cutter. She was very good at sharing with Mama too! After she cut her hearts, she'd put them back onto her rolled dough. She's not one for messes :) She stuck with it for a while. I finished mine up and while they were baking I started in on Nana's birthday cake. Besides needing the measuring spoons, she didn't waiver from her dough and cookie cutters! It was definitely a success and I see us doing a lot of cooking in the kitchen together :)

Beans, Kitties, and Popcorn

This past weekend we headed up to LL Beans to do some shopping. Caroline and Daddy go to check out the Moose and fish while Mommy had the joy of standing in the long lines :) While we were there I noticed some great slippers for Caroline. All of the other ones for her age I feel like they would cause more harm then good. We've been using slipper socks, but they fall down all of the time. So, we tried on some bears, moose, and then we stopped black and white kitties. She loved them! She wanted to hold them the whole way home. She also showed Fievel that they looked just like them! We hug and kiss the kitties, like everything else, goodnight and then they go in a special spot in the closet. (That is so we don't see them and call out for them all night long)
Later that night, I had the hankering for old fashioned, stove-top popcorn. Alan and I whipped some up and Caroline enjoyed watching and listening. She wanted her own and we made a large batch so we let her have her own bowl. Before you think she ate the whole thing, remember, she is 21 months and clumsy. She also has 2 dogs that are very interested in what she eats. She even practiced strong will power and said, "No more" after a few bites.

The best part of shopping is the bags!

Feeding Lucy some "Yum Yums"

Feeling pretty good sitting on the couch, by herself, eating popcorn :)

Notice she is eating with both hands :P

A visit to Great Gram's

A couple of weeks ago we went to Caroline's Great Gram's and visited with her, Aunt Barbara, Aunt Carol, and cousin Maia (who is only 4 months older). The girls had lots of fun sharing toys, not sharing toys, and generally being hams for us.

Ready to go to G Gram's!

We left Elmo to his reading

Great Gram and her great girls!

Hugs!

Snow Day

I couldn't wait for Caroline to wake up so I could show her the snow. The ground was already nicely covered, with lots more on its way. The past two times we've gotten snow this year haven't been much so this time would be different.

I didn't show her the snow outside of her window. This time I was ready with the video camera and wanted to catch her reaction out the back slider. She saw the snow outside the front door window and starting saying, "SNOW!" I turned the camera on and figured we'd start shooting from there. As you can see, by the time we got downstairs she was already kind of over it and more interested in taking care of her baby.

Today is the first day Caroline has been out in the snow since last year. As far as she is concerned, it's the first time! I couldn't wait to get her all dressed up and out there. As you can see, she wasn't that thrilled with it. In the video you'll see her point upwards and say, "Belt." I'm wearing my ear warmer and she uses that as a belt for the baby on her tricycle!

While editing the video Caroline came over to see it. She wasn't happy that the baby in the video was out in the snow. When I say "Caroline do you want to go inside?" She nodded on my lap "yes!" Get that baby out of the snow! Sorry for the "bumpiness" of the video, but it's an action shot :)
