First Weekend of Prelude!

The beginning of our holiday season always starts off with Prelude. We love this community and family tradition. It's fun how some things stay the same, yet it evolves as our family grows older. Less family pictures or pictures of Caroline because she is off with friends or I don't' want to share her friends pictures on here. We're on the move more so things become blurry. But, as they get older we can do more. This year was warmer than normal so we decided after the Dock Sq. tree lighting and the nativity to head down to Cape Porpoise and catch the Lobster Trap Tree lighting. It was more laid back and fun, but I think we'll stick with the Dock Sq tree from now on. We love the festive chaos of it all and more chances to run into friends. The next morning we rolled out of bed and headed to our favorite Prelude activity, the pancake breakfast at Washington Hose! We've been doing this as a family for a long time now. It's nice to see old friends and Caroline always runs into her best bud, Brenna. The kids play on the truck after breakfast and then we head home for a little down time before the next activity. This year, we were headed to cut down our very first Christmas tree!

Pin removal was rough. There was some general freaking out

and then some crying because, well, pins were getting removed. 

We have pictures so that she could look and see after the fact and she 

was calm, but those wont be shared on here. Pretty crazy how bad

her break was, what she needed done, and how quickly she is healing though)

LL Bean Northern Lights & Red Claws Game

The evening after Thanksgiving, yes Black Friday, we headed up to LL Bean to try and grab a family photo with their Northern Lights display. We figured most of the craziness would have calmed down and we really wanted to see if we could find Santa's reindeer since we missed them last year. The store and Northern Lights display was busy, but nothing out of the ordinary so it was perfect. We had a fun time walking around, seeing the trains, drinking hot cocoa and seeing Santa's reindeer!!!! We skipped the big guy since we'll see him soon in the 'Port.
On Sunday we caught a Red Claws game. We've taken the kids to baseball and football games, but no basketball yet and it's funny since it's something Caroline's always been interested in. We all had a great time and even scored some free pizza from the father/son who won a pie during a crowd contest!

Thanksgiving

With our Thanksgiving plans changed, we opted to keep it simple and enjoy what we're thankful for. Our family and the great little team we make, our Lucy, and the place we call home. While we kept it simple, we had everything we needed and plenty of food!
In the morning we had some cinnamon rolls and watched the parade while Daddy went shooting with his cousins. Then we relaxed a bit, played, and went for a family walk on the beach. We came home and got the rest of the food ready and enjoyed our dinner. It was nice to slow down and take a breath.

Happy 4th Birthday George!

Since we weren't in Florida like originally intended, we decided to head down to Boston and visit the New England Aquarium. We love it there and George hadn't been. This was something super fun that everyone could participate in. George woke up and enjoyed some birthday funfetti waffles, danced to Stevie Wonder's Happy Birthday, opened up his cards and gift from Caroline and we hit the road! We had a lot of fun at the aquarium, ate lunch there and then later on had dinner at Bertucci's. Waffles, penguins, pizza, presents and desserts. It was an awesome day!
