Week of 6/1 in Pictures

This week was a little rough on us as George outgrew his swing, MamaRoo, and bouncy seat and we had to pack them up. Doesn't sound like a big deal, but this kid only takes his long 1.5 hour nap in something with movement. He only takes 20-30 minute naps in his crib. What that meant was a baby who wouldn't sleep and it would build up for a crank-fest of a day. We survived, but we're not out of the woods at all! Today, Saturday, marked the end of Caroline's swimming lessons and we are really proud of how well she did in the pool without Daddy for the first time. Bring on summer and the pool! No really, please Mother Nature, bring summer on! This week we saw temperatures in the 50's and lots of rain. This weekend will be a scorcher though!

 George needs a bigger safe place, so

After an hour I had to wake him up so we could go to

 Just three rocks in the chair and he is out, so desperate for movement!

But that means he wont eat and we can't transfer him anywhere else!

 So sleepy and these teeth need to come through!

 Caroline is all about dinosaurs this week as well!

 Friday night it was finally nice so we

packed a picnic dinner and hit the playground!

 Caroline earned this as part of her quitting thumb sucking, 

but we all needed it!

 George took us to DQ afterwards,

just kidding, he was asleep again while we ate ice cream :)

George is 6 Months!

Well, actually he is getting closer to 7 months now. Gasp! Time is going by too quickly! I don't want to be on the other side of 6 months :( Anyways, George is growing and getting older. At his 6 month check-up, 5/21, he was 100% across the boards. His length was 29.5, his head circumference was 18.25, and his weight was 22lb 12oz. Today he is 24lb 2oz! He is working on staying in the situp position if we place him that way. He is also scooting and pivoting all over the place. Now that he has outgrown the MamaRoo, swing, infant car seat, bouncy seat etc. we are making lots of adjustments. Because of those adjustments we are dealing with an unhappy George who will not nap. We think he is also teething and going through a growth spurt because he is just an overall crank when it comes to sleeping and he is eating a LOT! He also seems to be dealing with a little bit of separation anxiety and wants us around all of the time :) The pictures were taken on a dark, rainy day and he was squirmy as always, but we had to hurry and take them before he goes into the next "month." That's right, I'm not saying it again : )

 These two are just the cutest. I'm not sure who adores the other more :)

George vs. Butternut Squash

This is actually the second time George has had butternut squash, but really the first time he's eaten it. The last time he just had a tiny taste as I was making the big batch. He definitely likes the squash more than the cereal. Cereal he has had twice and hated it both times. I'm OK with that though, veggies are better :)

Week of 5/25 in Pictures

This week was actually pretty calm in the grand scheme of things. George only had one appointment, he had to get his noggin measured to see progress with the helmet. Good news, there was progress and we'll go back in 3 weeks! Caroline had school but nothing special going on. The big thing was Daddy took the week of to get some things done around the house, but it rained most of the days so he didn't get as much as he had hoped to accomplished. Anytime it wasn't raining though, he and Caroline were outside and George and I made it out as much as we could as well!

Fivel lets George grab both ears and try to fit Fivel's face in his mouth. 

I can not believe how accommodating he is, but we are also trying to teach George

 to be a little nicer!

 I'm back to making baby food!

First up, butternut squash

 Caroline earned 10 red stars so we got to

go to Big Daddy's

Mommy and Daddy may have pushed for that 10th star to be earned :) 

This time, Caroline tried "Banana Chocolate Chip" and has officially tried more flavors there than

Alan and I combined!

 George on the other hand did not like his ice cream!

He was finally awake to get a lick and he was not a happy camper

 Caroline thought he'd like hers better,

but he didn't once he actually got some in his mouth

 Caroline had no problem polishing hers off!

 George is scooting all around now and

can climb into his toys and pick some out now :)

Not here, but she did swim a little bit without any flotation device.

Next week is her last class and then we do lots of practice over the summer at home and at camp!

Memorial Day '14

Memorial Day has become a big thing in our house. Besides the importance of remembering those who have and are serving our country, it's the kickoff to summer. We go downtown and see friends in the community we haven't seen all winter and we take pride in our town. We have a lot of fun at the parade and we have a lot of fun making it a big deal. Caroline has always had so much fun dressing in her patriotic outfits for the parade and this year we got to include George in on it too. The weather was touch and go but it cleared long enough for the parade. The rest of the day wasn't so nice though. Fun was had and hopefully out weather here will start looking a little bit nicer!

but she deicded not to the morning of because she was afraid she wouldn't 

get to see the rest of the parade then. Maybe next year!?!
