Caroline has been itching to have a sleepover party for about a year now and we decided what better way to celebrate turning 8 than a sleepover. This has definitely become a big year for Caroline. Her own pet and now a sleepover! :) We invited three friends to spend the night. Her best friend couldn't spend the night so she came for the evening festivities and left before the movie and bedtime. The girls were so good and it was a great time. We started with make your own pizza and then made DIY dream catchers. Opened presents and had huge ice cream sundaes. They headed upstairs and watched the live action Beauty and the Beast in the playroom with the projector and then settled in. They woke up just before 6am and were treated to a pancake buffet! By 2pm the next day Caroline was asking if she could skip school because she was so tired and by 6pm that evening she wanted to know when her next sleepover would be :) I think she had a great birthday party :)

to watch Pinocchio and have his own sleepover above the garage.
We celebrated Caroline's 8th birthday this year! How can that be? She was just this tiny little baby in my arms. Sigh. Her birthday fell on a Wednesday so her choice was to stay home and have dinner and cake. Her selections were pasta with sauteed mushrooms and shrimp. For dessert she wanted a lemon layer cake with a raspberry curd filling. Love that her palate continues to grow :) It was the best day ever because she had Art at school, early release Wednesday, and her birthday! While George napped and I worked on her cake she Facetimed with Gramma and opened her presents from her. She got a bunch of Heidi Hecklebeck books to add to her growing collection and a cute little pouch carrier for Butterscotch. I didn't get any pictures but it will show up often in blogs to come! After dinner Nana and Grampy came over for cake and to give Caroline their present. They, along with Aunt Barbara and Uncle Rick, gave her a complete set of Harry Potter books. She got a lovely card and gift from Great Gram and she also got a jewel craft from A. Barbara and U.Rick on Easter. Her proclaimed favorite gift (besides her early gift of Butterscotch) was from George. A journaling book. So, a few craft things and LOTS of books were the theme for this year's birthday :)

Happy Easter! We had a great holiday dying eggs and making dessert the day before, having fun hunting for eggs and eating bunny cinnamon rolls in the morning and heading the Nana and Grampy's for Easter dinner with Great Gram, Aunt Barbara and Uncle Rick.
The father daughter dance was earlier in the year this year so it was still very cold versus everyone melting in the school gym. We still managed to get some quick photos (while it was snowing) that make it appear that it's truly spring time in Maine and Caroline is our sweet flower :)
Alan and Caroline had a ball this year. Lots of dancing and silliness. They even had a photo booth this year complete with costumes :)
