DJ Prince & the 20 Princesses

Caroline and her friends have been practicing hard and for very long hours this year to put on their play and over the weekend they had three performances. We went as a family for opening night and then I volunteered for the second night backstage and hosted the cast after party. As always, it's so much fun watching her up on stage and while it's rough leading up to the play, it's great to see her shine :)

2nd Half of February

The second half of February was filled with germs. For three weeks we just couldn't shake the sickness. Most of it occurred during school vacation. Luckily, we didn't have a lot planned and George only missed a couple of days of school beforehand.

1st Half of February

The first half of February introduced a lot of new things to our family. We went to our first school sock hop, got a guinea pig, went ice fishing, supported a schoolmate at a charity dinner, George completed his first swim class and so on....

 Happy Valentine's Day!

Meet Butterscotch

Caroline has been wanting a guinea pig for a few years now. We've had little notes left for us on the tablet, in our desks, etc. She has pleaded and asked her grandparents and this year she wrote her persuasive essay on getting a guinea pig. We caved just before she brought that home :) We figured turning eight years old was kind of a big milestone becoming more mature and ready to handle her own pet. We had seen the cutest bunny in the entire world and had hoped to change her mind with him or even a cat, but she walked into that store and saw Butterscotch and was in love. She has pleaded for guinea pigs at other places, but this was the first she could hold and get attached to. We had wanted to wait until after our April vacation but we figured why go through more heartbreak. So, meet Butterscotch! While she was hoping for a girl guinea pig since she had more names picked up, she immediately came up with his name and it was love at first site :)

KCS Sock Hop!

Caroline's school holds a Sock Hop every winter and this year we finally made it. Oh my goodness, it was so much fun. Caroline loved getting dressed up and her skirt had quite the spin factor, but George turned out to be quite the social butterfly, befriending every kid and totally becoming the life of the party! We can't wait for next year!

 Watch towards the end, George loved doing the Conga line and every time they did it he was paired with different kids. It was hysterical. He just moved along the line. Caroline is the second to last in her very best "Sandy from Grease" look

The kids were given raffle tickets and Caroline won a jump rope 

and George so wanted to be called. Right before we left he was and Mr. Woodcock, the PE teacher and host, saw it was him and said, "This little guy has been waiting all night and coming up to me and asking if his ticket was a winner" It was so cute, George hopped right up on stage to claim his prize!
