Caroline's 1st Time at Mini Golf & Alan's 39th Bday

Thursday was Alan's birthday and he decided to take the day off and make a 4-day weekend out of it. We thought it would be fun to take Caroline to play putt-putt for the first time. I was a little apprehensive with bringing George, but it worked out really well. Caroline actually played very fast so there wasn't much down time at all. it being a Thursday afternoon we had the place almost all to ourselves so there was no rush or delay of game either. It was a lot of fun. Later, we all (Nana, Grampy, Gramma, and us) headed to the Steakhouse for dinner and then back home for dessert. We hit the Steakhouse right at opening so there was no wait which was perfect. Kids were awesome and the meal was enjoyable!

A Very Fairy Tea Party

On Tuesday, Caroline and I attended the Very Fairy Tea Party hosted by the Graves library in Kennebunkport. Caroline heard of this party a couple of months back after her Kindergarten screening and has been counting down the days. We were pretty excited! It exceeded our expectations as the library did a wonderful job. The kids all had face painting done, colored fairy pictures, made fairy wands, blew fairy dust (bubbles), had a fairy parade, sang songs and read stories, and then were treated to a snack with lemonade. We will definitely be making an appearance next year as well!

Lobster Boat Tour

Thursday Gramma, Caroline and I headed out for a lobster tour out of Kennebunkport. It was fun to play tourist for a bit and show Gramma the coast from a boat for the first time. Caroline has been asking about lobstering and getting a lobster trap so this was the most convenient way to show her! On the way we also saw a bunch of seals, a baby lobster, a mama lobster, and a cull (which is a lobster with only one claw). We had lots of fun and then headed to Federal Jack's for lunch afterwards, which didn't go as planned, but was still nice to sit and chat for a bit :)

Week of 6/21 in Pictures

Our first week of summer and no school was a bit of an eye opener for us. Caroline was used to having playmates and activities planned every moment of the day and no matter what I did, it wasn't enough. We've got to get her back to being a bit more independent. George wasn't keen on sharing his quiet Mama time and Mama was just trying to juggle it all. We did have a lot of fun though. We played games around the house, Alan took the kids to the mall for some fun one evening, we played outside, went on a lobster boat tour, Caroline went strawberry picking with Nana, and there were a couple of lunches in there as well. We finished the week off with a wedding, while the kids stayed home with Gramma and had their own reception. The big news was George decided it was time to start using the potty. We hadn't even initiated anything yet, but he said he had ot go , we got the potty and he went and he's been going ever since. Obviously some hits and misses here and there but so far things have been going very, very well! Way to go George!

Father's Day

Since Father's Day was going to have miserable weather we opted to celebrate the day before. Daddy was allowed to sleep in late, get his card and his smoker from the kids, and then later in the afternoon we went to the marina for a cookout and a boat ride with Nana and Grampy. We finished it off with some delicious chocolate cherry cupcakes. It was a great afternoon and I think Daddy was happy :)
