Memorial Day & George's 1st Boat Ride

After George's nap we headed to the marina for a cookout. Unfortunately, during the short drive from our house to the marina the temperature dropped twenty degrees and small rain clouds appeared. We stuck through it and took a short trip out on the boat for George's first time on the Sweet Caroline II and his first blue water experience (the ocean for any landlubbers out there). Caroline loved being out on the boat again and George thought it was a lot of fun too. Think he'll be getting his sea legs this summer. Afterwards, while Nana grilled I hung out with George while Daddy and Caroline did some fishing. We celebrated Grampy's birthday with some cake and then headed home to get ready for school the next morning. Soon, we wont have to worry about school nights for a little while!

Memorial Day Parade

The Memorial Day parade has become a fun tradition in our family. Caroline loves to get dressed up, grab our flags, decorate the wagon, and wave to everyone involved. George really got into the festivities this year as well. He took Caroline's place aside his folks and cheered and waved while Caroline was actually in the parade this year. Waving from the fire engine with Gary and Tammy Martin. She was so happy and had so much fun! It was a gorgeous morning and a great parade. As usual, halfway through the parade they stop to do the speeches and Caroline got out and hung out with us, did a little window shopping, and took some pictures. Afterwards, she got back into the engine and finished off the parade. We picked her up at the fire station, although not very willingly, and headed home for a quick nap for George and then we headed out to the marina for a cookout.

Week of 5/17 in Pictures

Another crazy week here in the Lovejoy household. We started our Monday with school and then tee ball practice. Tuesday morning George had an appointment with the allergist to see if he had any allergies because of Caroline's history and some of his eczema issues, but he is allergy free so far! George also turned 18 months!!! The rest of the week was just the usual day to day. Alan got home a little early on Friday to beat the Memorial Day traffic coming up from Mass. so we hit the park for some playground fun and dinner. The following day we were busy buying everything for our garden so we could have a productive holiday weekend. Caroline went over for a sleepover at Nana and Grampy's and the three of us hit some more stores and grabbed a bite to eat.
