Week in Pictures 8/3

We had another fun filled week with not much planned. We were just aiming to cruise into the weekend for Caroline's show at the Ogunquit Playhouse, my birthday, and then Alan's stay-cation the following week. We did crafts, played around the house, made lots of yummy foods for my blog, and took care of some things so we wouldn't have to do too much the following week.

A Day at the Zoo!

On Sunday we headed to York and went to York's Wild Kingdom. We've been meaning to get down there for a while and this year it was a priority! We met up with our friends Brian and Karen and they brought their son Connor and Brian's cousin. The kids had a blast and with the passes we got from the rained out Seadogs game, we had free admission to everything there. It was a fun day and we couldn't have asked for better weather, warm but overcast. Afterwards, we stopped on the way home for some Big Daddy's since Caroline had earned another 10 stars. She was asleep but happy when she realized where we were :)

Blueberry Picking

On Friday we finally got out and went blueberry picking. I love the farm we go to because it is pesticide free, high bush, and less than 5 minutes away! I also love it because I can bring the stroller! We had tried the Ergo carrier with George but he was being especially fussy that day and it was either stroller or nothing. Thankfully, Caroline was willing to give it a shot. Caroline wanted to do a big container this year and I let her. Granted, she only filled her normal kid version worth and I handled the rest after I was finished :) We left with 3 quarts of blueberries and we'll probably go back for more this week. By Saturday morning 1.5 qts were already eaten and more used on ice cream!

7/27 Week in Pictures

Last week was a busy and fun week! On Monday night we headed to the Portland Seadogs game for a fun outing with Trane. Unfortunately, storms had been in the area all day and right at the beginning of the third inning they called the game. The SUPER sad part was Caroline was picked as the kid who got to race Slugger around the bases but she never got to go. She was pretty devastated but handled it rather well. We booked it out of there just in time though, by the time we got to the car and were buckled in it started pouring. Caroline didn't come away empty handed though, she got two baseballs, a foam finger and then for missing out on Slugger she got a $25 gift certificate for Hannafords and 9 passes to Yorks Wild Kingdom! Granted, we would have paid them at that point to let her run the bases. The rest of the week was spent doing mostly stuff around the house, craft projects, gardening etc. George really started eating solids, hello little pieces of meat AND he surprised us by pulling up on his race car. We took pictures and were so proud, but later that night he was put in his crib and within a minute he was standing up in it! All caught on video.

I missed the big "in the cart for the first time" moment

George is 8 months!

Well, he's been 8 months. He actually turned 8 months on the day we took those outside photos in his baptism romper. Then we got busy and or the lighting was always so dark in the living room. We're thinking in two weeks when it's time to take his 9 month photos, we'll lose the couch and just go somewhere where the lighting is better! So yeah, George is 8.5 months and these past two or three weeks have been huge in development. He loves to clap, is crawling/swimming all over the place and can do true crawling for a couple of movements before stopping. He also LOVES to stand, which has been consistent since he was a infant. But, he has been caught pulling up now in his crib. We've also pretty much moved from purees, only giving him some because I had made a bunch. He is all about finger foods and always wants to eat when and what we are eating. He is a happy guy and for the most part, always has smiles for everyone!

 He can't believe he is 8 months already either!
