The Day After

Once Alan finished cleaning up the rest of the snow at his folks, shop, our house etc. we went for a little ride around town. Mostly to see the sights and to get out of the house before cabin fever set in. We also had to make a run to the grocery store. Our post blizzard staple? Frozen spinach, yeah I bet we were the only ones getting this that day!

Nemo arrives!

Nemo did most of his damage overnight, although it continued to snow and we had strong winds for a good portion of the day. Fortunately, we had no damage and we didn't lose power! We had around 31 inches overall. The snow was very fluffy and combined with the winds we decided to keep Caroline indoors. We didn't want to lose her in it all! So, we stayed inside and played and baked while Daddy plowed and did a lot of shoveling!

 Alan had to wade out in this first thing, he was wet right to his hips!

The Snow Arrives...

Friday morning Alan woke up to about 5 inches of snow on the ground. It wasn't supposed to start snowing until late morning, so he figured it was safe to go to work for half the day. With this much at 5 am, he decided to stay home. He headed out and grabbed the plow truck and Caroline and I woke up and checked out the snow. We spent the day preparing for Nemo to arrive later that night. This was just the pre-show of snow! We went out and played in the snow, shoveled the snow, plowed the snow, shoveled some more and tried to stay warm! At about 3pm, we had around 14 inches of snow on the deck and just an hour later the deck was pretty well covered again. We went to bed with Nemo upon us and wondered what we would wake up to!

window kept me from it and I joined them minutes later :)

The second time around it got buried too quickly and had to wait till we shoveled!

 Luckily, Caroline has her own mini snow shovel so she could help too!

Fortunately, when you are pretend sick Snow White makes house calls in a blizzard!

I know I know, I'm late with this post but we were in prep for the blizzard and then dealing with the blizzard. I have lots of pictures from that as well so this week there will be lots of posts. Better late than never, right? :)

Photo Friday!

I seem to always say this, but this week WAS a very busy week! Over the weekend we had swimming lessons and did some research into some things for around the yard this summer. We went to the Bounce Zone with our friends Rusty and Bella. I got away for a dinner prepared by the Chef from On the Marsh as part of my moms group and there were lots of other things to attend to this week. Caroline also had her first visit to the dentist! She was so great! She followed the lady right in and did as she was asked. She was quite the chatterbox as always and they were very impressed with her. She asked what everything was called and they loved giving her the proper names. No plaque, no cavities and lots of goodies to come home with. She can't wait to go again, in 6 months! Tomorrow we start it all off again with swimming lessons! This week was definitely not like last week :)

 My has she grown since the first time she went on these slides :)

 She was a little leery about going to the dentist, until I told her she could wear a dress!

 She told me all about Leather back sea turtles and she took this one for a ride!

 She really wanted a toy out of this, little did either of us know that she would earn a token to use for this after her appointment!
