Overnight, Sunday Oct 29th, we had a storm that I believe had a tropical storm name but I don't remember anymore. Too much has happened since then. BUT... the winds were howling and we were nervous so Alan brought the kids downstairs to sleep with us. George and Alan camped out up above the garage and Caroline slept with me in bed. The kids slept well, we did not. We went through that day tired and waiting to get some sleep that night. We woke up a few times hearing crashes and thuds and the wind howling. When we woke, there were many trees down, some large, but fortunately only a few fell towards the house and none hitting it. Our light on our lamp post was knocked loose, but otherwise, we were good. We lost power early morning and didn't get it back for a few days. Thankfully, we had the generator and could keep that going for most of the day. The kids were restless and going a bit stir crazy. That evening Caroline had riding lessons since they still had power so Alan took her to burn off some energy. If only we knew what larger storm would be headed towards us...
