A Life Filled With Love & Joy: Headed to Walt Disney World!

Early morning, Saturday April 14th, we headed down to Providence RI and caught a direct flight down to Orlando. The flight went well and we landed just before lunch. We were supposed to take the complimentary Magical Express bus to Disney World, but there was quite a line that seemed to have no end and our children had reached theirs. Alan found an Uber and we headed to our hotel.

As we figured, our hotel room wasn't ready so we hoped a bus to Disney Springs and checked out a few stores there and grabbed lunch at our first surprise for the kids, T-Rex. It took a bit for George to warm up to the dinosaurs and the loudness, but Caroline loved it. We filled our bellies and then went and walked around some more. George grabbed his first souvenir, Stitch. He noticed him in a store before lunch and made a beeline for him at the first store after lunch so we figured it was meant to be. Afterwards, we went and had the kids silhouette done. I've been wanting to get these done and I was happy to get these out of the way so we wouldn't have to take up valuable park time. We couldn't find a place to embroider a Mickey Mouse ears hat for George so that would have to wait until we got to Magic Kingdom the following day.

It was hot and our feet were tired so we grabbed a decadent ice cream sundae from Ghirardelli Soda shop and headed back to the hotel. When we arrived, our room wasn't ready, but our bags and stroller rental had. I went and spoke with guest services and we changed our room (I had made a request and it was still being cleaned). We were only staying at the Caribbean Beach Club for one night and then transferring over to the Polynesian so we weren't too worried. The room we got was great and nice and close to the main pool. The resort was under construction so food options weren't great, but we didn't mind. The room was great and since it was under construction there were three trading pins left for us as a keepsake. We changed into our swimsuits and headed to the pool to cool off and let the kids unwind. Neither brought a camera so we have no pictures, oddly, of our time at the CBR but it was fun. We were only at the pool for thirty minutes before they closed it because the water had gotten cloudy. It actually worked out for us since we needed to get some food and head to bed. It was an early morning and we had a big day ahead of us! We ordered some room service pizza and chicken bites and headed to bed.
