Moving the Furniture!

For the past week Caroline has been having fun moving the kitchen chairs around. Usually, it's when I'm cooking so I don't have a chance to grab the video camera. When I do have the chance, she usually stops and comes crawling to me thinking she can play with the camera. I finally got her on tape and let her move them. The norm is we tell her no, and give her her Dinosaur to push around. She can't get up on the chairs yet, but that time will soon come. She already pushes them to the end table and the windows, which we know she wants to climb up on.

This past weekend was a busy one for Caroline. She had to entertain so many folks. From visiting with family, friends, and going out to eat to celebrate Nana's birthday. She was a trooper and did it all with a smile on her face. She is so much fun to take to restaurants. She just loves watching all of the people and smiles, laughs and bounces up and down.

We've also started Skyping with Grandma. It's so nice to be able to see each other and although Caroline only kinda gets it, she definitely recognizes Grandma's voice and responds!

Caroline is in the throes of teething. The top teeth haven't made an appearance yet, but her sleep schedule is off, she's been clingy, and can turn into a grump very quickly. Hopefully, they come soon. She's a three nap a day kind of kid and she's only been napping twice. I know they cut back around this age, but she's so tired at the end of the day she's going to bed at 6pm. Poor thing!

Clap Clap Clap

This week Caroline and I have been rolling a ball back and forth and after she does it I say, "Yay" and clap my hands. The other night Alan came downstairs after putting her to bed and said she started clapping on the changing table. The next morning, when she woke up she saw me and started clapping. When I put Orajel on her gums she started clapping. She also has added it along with her swaying when she sings or hears music. It's so cute and I just wanted to share. I tried to get a video of it last night, but she was too much of a ham. The video below shows her clapping, but of course the real moment was over so her enthusiasm is a bit low.

10 Months Old!

Caroline is 10 months old now, double digits! It's hard to believe she's growing so fast and before I know it she'll be a year. Taking the monthly pictures is a lot easier then when she was a newborn and so much more fun! These were taken the other evening after Alan got home from work so she was especially happy to see Daddy and be amused by him.

No doctors appointment this month so no official stats. She still only has the two bottom teeth, but something tells me that a top one should be arriving soon. As you will notice in the video below, I think we're going to have a walker soon too! She has no problem cruising from item to item and let's go for about 10-12 seconds. A few times she has gotten up from seated position and just stood up, not holding on to anything. She only lasts about 5 seconds when she does that, but I'm impressed!

We got the gates this past weekend and they'll go up this weekend. Nice, study metal gates that go into the wall, we'll need them! She is all over the place these days and does not want to sit still.

Baby loves music!

The past few weeks Caroline has really shown an interest in music. Swaying back and forth when she hears music, making her own with her maracas, and singing "la la la." To say it doesn't melt my heart and make me smile is an understatement.

This afternoon, when I went into her room after her nap, she was standing up in her crib. She was hitting the buttons of her mobile and changing the songs. When I went to pick her up she didn't want to go. She just smiled and swayed. Then, when I started to sing the melody, she went over to her Seahorse and turned that on so that it played music. She just kept holding on to the crib rails and swaying and smiling and laughing. She did this for almost ten minutes. Just enjoying herself and loving having an audience.

Just a sweet little Caroline moment that I wanted to share. Music has always been an important component in my life and I love that she enjoys it too.

Moving all around!

Caroline has always been a step ahead of us with holding her head up, rolling and crawling early. Now, she's upped the ante and is all over the place. She's been pulling up on furniture etc. for about a month now and the past few days she's been able to stand on her own for about 10 seconds. What's great is she'll start to fall forward and correct herself for a second. Have a feeling it wont be too long before I write the "She's standing" post!
She loves being able to have full access of the house more than anything. As I write this she is having fun playing in her tunnel with Daddy.

She's been going up the stairs for a couple of weeks now, but this is only the second time she's gone the whole way. Don't worry, gates go up this weekend!
